Oil Support Rails (OSR) are essential in applications where the pin bore breaks through the piston’s oil groove, like those with short compression heights due to large strokes or long rod lengths. Without OSR, the oil ring could protrude through the wrist pin opening. Wiseco piston oil rail supports are designed for use in applications where the piston oil ring groove intersects the pinhole. They can only be used with pistons that have a groove machined 0.030 inches wider than the oil ring. Made from spring steel, these supports are installed against the bottom sill of the oil ring groove. Available in various bore diameters to meet your engine's specific requirements, Wiseco piston oil rail supports ensure smooth piston operation throughout the entire operating range.
