More Info:
Undersized rod bearings have extra material thickness on the inside of the bearing facing the crankshaft journal. Undersized bearings are needed when the crank has been machined or ground undersize.

P-Series (Passenger/Stock):
Clevite's P-Series Passenger/Stock bearings use a thicker babbitt overlay (about 0.001 inch) over a softer material compared to the H-Series. This offers more embedability and conformability, making them more forgiving with tighter clearances. 

Clevite Tri-Metal 77 engine bearings combine the strength of a copper-lead alloy layer with steel backing and an electroplated babbitt metal. The steel backing provides strength and durability, the babbitt overlay provides the critical surface characteristics of slipperiness and conformability. This ideal design has properties not even found in many original equipment bearings.
