More Info:
Make sure you’re ready for action every time with the easy to use CT5 POWERSPORT battery charger. Get the best performance out of your powersport vehicle batteries whether you’re on land, water, snow or ice. Connect the charger direct to the battery or via the 12V CANBUS socket using the INDICATOR PLUG 12V accessory.
The CT5 POWERSPORT has been designed specifically to charge and maintain powersport batteries using advanced technology to give you three fully automatic charging and maintenance programs – Normal: for all lead-acid batteries, including AGM, Lithium*: for all lithium* batteries and Recond. If required, you can connect The CT5 Powersport directly to the battery indefinitely, it will not over or undercharge.
The CT5 POWERSPORT is suitable for all motorcycles, ATVs, Jet Skis, and snowmobiles. The CT5 POWERSPORT offers features such as a special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries, unique maintenance charging, and the charging of demanding AGM batteries (i.e. Optima). The charger is splash and dustproof, designed to protect vehicle electronics and non-sparking, reverse polarity protected, and short-circuit proof. It is delivered with a 5-year warranty. It provides an outstanding charging experience!
Battery Info:
AGM: The AGM lead-acid batteries will be labeled as AGM, or Absorbed Glass Mat, dry cell, sealed regulated valve, non-spillable, or valve-regulated. These are sealed, maintenance free and easy to charge. Many automakers and car owners use AGM batteries for the increased starting demand of modern cars with start/stop feature. These are more resilient to being drained, are designed to perform better in all temperature ranges, and are more durable than flooded batteries.
(Examples are: Optima batteries, and Odyssey batteries)
EFB: Vehicles with Stop-Start technology may use one of these Enhanced Flooded Batteries batteries. These batteries are meant to tolerate the constant stopping and starting without impacting the battery. While similar to the AGM, it has a longer cycle life. The EFB battery will withstand more cycles of charge and discharge than an AGM before it reaches the end of its useable life.
CA/CA: A calcium battery is a lead acid battery with a calcium component (around 1%) added to both the positive and negative plates. The battery container is fully sealed and maintenance-free. Many modern vehicles use calcium batteries as they are less likely to be affected by extreme weather conditions and higher charge rates.
Wet: Also called Flooded or Conventional, the wet cell batteries are the most common used battery for cars. Usually flooded batteries are not sealed. Flooded batteries hold very good rates of charge for the price, but require more work.
Gel: The gel-filled lead-acid batteries come with a Geld filled label on the battery. Delicate and needs caution when charging. This battery is NOT commonly used in vehicles.
MF: A maintenance free battery is a sealed battery that is easily identifiable since they do not have filler caps. Most new cars come standard with maintenance free batteries.
(A battery can be one of the above types and MF)
