For the M2 owners, most parts we list here will be for the M2 Competition/CS S55 twin-turbo engine. If you've got the N55 engine, please read all fitments carefully.
The BMW S55 was first released in 2014 for the F80 M3. It is a 3.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine with a die-cast aluminum alloy block. The engine has a closed-deck crankcase design meaning the cylinder walls are integrated with the block (much like the "indestructible" 2JZ). The cylinder walls are coated with a twin-wire arc-spray which deposits molten iron to strengthen the cylinder walls and keep weight down vs a fully iron block. Comes with a lightweight forged steel nitrocarburised crankshaft and full slipper skirt aluminium alloy pistons by Mahle with a Grafal coating to reduce friction.
