Genuine OEM Mitsubishi camshaft position sensors for the 1997-1999 2G DSM and Evo 4/5/6/7/8/9 models. The 2G and Evo 4-9 all use the same exhaust cam sensor, but Evo 9 will also take the MIVEC intake sensor. The exhaust sensor is pictured, but the intake sensor is identical in appearance. Sold individually, price is for one sensor.

These sensors can fail and cause your car to break up mid-pull or buck on low cruising speeds. We also offer a STM Cam Position Sensor Heat Shield for Evo 4-9 to help protect the exhaust sensor from the heat of the manifold.

Description confusion

Dear STM, your description is slightly confusing and I ask that you please resolve it to prevent further confusion from happening. There’s enough confusion in the DSM community between calling the sensor a “Cam Angle Sensor” (CAS) and a “Cam Position Sensor” (CPS) which people confuse for a “Crank Position Sensor” (CPS) or “Crank Angle Sensor” (CAS). Everyone calls them something different, including Mitsubishi, but sensor terminology aside, you guys labeled this as an “Exhaust cam sensor” in your description and labeled the part as “Exhaust (23731W000P)” and showed the 14846 DSM diagram to prove it, but that is on the Intake cam, not the Exhaust cam. It is an intake cam sensor, not an exhaust cam sensor. Please label it as such so people won’t chase their tails looking for an exhaust cam sensor install location that doesn’t exist. Other than that, your products and other descriptions on many other parts are high quality, and accurate!
