They are CNC machined on state-of-the-art 5-axis Mazak Integrex 300-IV CNC machines to exacting tolerances of 0.0001 inches. Each crankshaft features large radius journals that enhance rigidity for high horsepower, high boost, and high RPM applications. Gun-drilled, CNC-ground oil holes have a smooth surface for superior oiling, teardropped for added oil scoop, cross-drilled for priority main feeding to the rods, and micro-polished to a mirror finish for optimal bearing lubricity. All cranks undergo stress relief, shot peening, magnaflux inspection, and nitriding (multi-step heat treatment) for ultimate performance. Fully profiled counterweights are designed to reduce windage through the crankcase, minimizing oil resistance for better RPM potential.
