BC crankshafts are crafted from premium aerospace-grade 4340 steel billet. They are CNC machined on advanced 5-axis Mazak Integrex 300-IV machines to exacting tolerances of .0001". Each crankshaft features large radius journals to enhance rigidity for high horsepower, high boost, and high RPM applications. Gun-drilled and CNC-ground oil holes offer smooth surfaces for improved oiling, with tear-dropped designs for added oil scoop and cross-drilled holes for priority main feeding to the rods. Micro-polished to a mirror finish for optimal bearing lubricity, all crankshafts undergo stress relief, shot peening, magnaflux inspection, and nitriding (a multi-step heat treatment) for superior performance. Fully profiled counterweights reduce windage in the crankcase, lowering oil resistance for better RPM potential.
