R35 GTR Quick Maintenance Notes:

The 3.8L VR38DETT engine is a cast-aluminum block with 24 valves controlled by dual overhead cams and variable valve timing (VVT) on the intake cam only. The VR38DETT design also has a magnesium oil sump and pressurized lubrication system with thermostatically controlled cooling.

The factory VR38DETT engines are hand-built in Yokohama Japan by four master craftsmen that Nissan calls the Takumi. "Once an engine is completed, the Takumi craftsman proudly mounts a plaque bearing his name upon the completed masterpiece." However, if you've moved beyond the limits of this masterpiece, we offer fully built short blocks and long blocks. Keep building, records are meant to be broken!
